Chrome Hearts Pendant Authentication: Photo Checklist

Published by CCChrome

A pendant submission should connect the smallest detail to the whole object. Begin with full-item views, then add closer photographs of marks, edges and attachment points. This checklist prepares evidence for a review; it is not a standalone real-versus-fake test.

1. Photograph the complete front and reverse

Keep the entire pendant and bail in frame. Show the pendant separately from a chain when practical, without forcing connectors open. State the model, material and size if known; do not guess.

2. Show the side profile and bail

Include both sides and the bail from several angles, including its opening where visible. These views connect the front and reverse to the piece's construction. Do not damage or dismantle the pendant to reveal hidden areas.

3. Capture marked surfaces without glare

Use soft indirect light, hold the camera parallel to the marked surface and tap to focus. Photograph every engraving clearly. Move the item or light when reflection obscures detail. Add another photograph instead of using AI to reconstruct lettering or make an unclear stamp appear readable.

4. Include measurements and history

Photograph the pendant beside a metric ruler and provide measured weight if you have a suitable scale. Explain whether weight includes a chain or other attachments. Mention repairs, replaced components, added stones and polishing. Dimensions and weight need exact model context; they are not universal authenticity rules.

Submission checklist

  • Complete front and reverse views
  • Both side profiles and edges
  • Bail and attachment points
  • Sharp views of every marked surface
  • Dimensions and weight where available, with attachment context
  • Known model, purchase history and alterations

Pendant photo example: front, reverse and bail

These original photographs show the same pendant, purchased directly from a Chrome Hearts store by CCChrome’s owner. Use the three views below to understand photo coverage: the full front, reverse and side/bail. They are not a universal real-versus-fake template.

Front of a Chrome Hearts cross pendant from CCChrome’s store-purchased reference collection
Front: the complete design and visible stone setting.
Reverse of the same Chrome Hearts cross pendant with its bail visible
Reverse: the back of the pendant and its connection to the bail.
Side profile of the same Chrome Hearts cross pendant showing its bail and engraved detail
Side and bail: profile, attachment points and visible engraving.

These wider views are only the starting point. Some fine detail is soft or reflective, so a submission also needs sharper, closer photographs of marked surfaces, measurements and disclosure of repairs or alterations. Do not use AI to reconstruct engravings or stones, or submit AI-edited pictures as authentication evidence.

What an original example can show

The original pendant gallery on our methodology page shows the same store-purchased piece from three directions. Those wider photographs illustrate coverage, not definitive hallmark comparisons. Fine detail that remains soft or reflective needs another close-up. Follow the illustrated jewelry photography guide for lighting and image preparation.

See our jewelry authentication service or compare Basic ($20 USD, 24 hours) and Premium ($40 USD, 6–12 hours). Timing begins when your order is submitted. If evidence is insufficient, CCChrome emails you for more photos or information.

Only an inconclusive result qualifies for an authentication-fee refund; a Not Authentic result does not. CCChrome is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Chrome Hearts LLC. Keep original photographs unchanged: a checklist or one visible feature cannot issue an authentication verdict.
